Prince’s Palace

In the late morning of Thursday 25th September in the Prince’s Palace, the official ceremony took place in which H.E. Ms Anaisabel Prera, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Guatemala handed over her letters of credence to the Principality of Monaco.
H.E. Ms Anaisabel Prera Flores was accompanied for the occasion by Mr Roland Melan, Honorary Consul for Guatemala in Monaco. After being welcomed to the Royal Courtyard of the Palace by the Company of Carabinieri guard of honour under the orders of Colonel Yannick Bershihand, Senior Commander of the Police Force, Ambassador Anaisabel Prera Flores was taken to the Hall of Mirrors by Colonel Luc Fringant, H.S.H. the Prince’s Chamberlain, together with Mr Roland Melan.

H.E. Ms Anaisabel Prera Flores then handed over her letters of credence to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, who was accompanied by Mr Jacques Boisson, Secretary of State, Mr Georges Lisimachio, Head of H.S.H. the Prince's Cabinet and Ms Mireille Pettiti, Director General of the Department of External Relations. Following the ceremony, H.S.H. the Prince held a private audience with the Ambassador in the Family Drawing Room.
The Republic of Guatemala thus becomes the forty-ninth foreign power accredited to the Principality of Monaco. Consular relations have existed between the Principality and the Republic of Guatemala since 16th March 1911.
Guatemala, like Monaco, takes part in work conducted by the International Whaling Commission.
