The 4th Meeting for Careers in Banking and Finance, organised by the Employment Service in partnership with the Monegasque Financial Activities Association and the Bank Training Institute, took place at the Monte Carlo Novotel on Wednesday 5th May.
The main purpose of the day was to welcome young individuals keen to enter into contact with representatives from banking establishments and management companies to obtain information on careers, training, professions and prospects for a highly sought-after but equally highly specialised professional sector: banking and finance. This year 17 financial establishments in Monaco actively took part through the involvement of their executives in the event throughout the day.
Furthermore, over 100 students, i.e. almost twice as many as last year, attended the event and had the opportunity to find out about the curriculum and course for the “Diplôme Européen d’études supérieurs de Banque” (European Higher Diploma in Banking) - option “the Monegasque banking centre”. Those interested in this course can collect application packs from the Employment Service. Applications should be sent back to the same service by 11th June 2010 at the latest.
The event concluded with a cocktail reception attended by representatives of the Government, the National Council and professionals from the financial sector in the presence of the President of the National Council, the Government Counsellor for Social Affairs and Health and the Government Counsellor for External Relations and for International Economic and Financial Affairs.
An extremely positive outcome for this event, which indisputably is increasing in scale every year and which is in line with the strategy of the Employment Service to develop sandwich courses as an effective means to build a bridge between the students’ world and the working world.
