Press Release n°4
Acrobatics, Juggling and Open Door Circus Show
From 19th to 29th January 2012, the Principality of Monaco will be the international circus capital and the 36th Festival will be welcoming to Fontvieille's famous circus ring:
- Erika Lemay (Canada), finalist in the M6 TV programme "La France a un incroyable talent" and former pupil at the Cirque du Soleil School; the artist will be performing a contorsion act and one using the aerial hoop;
- Steve Eleky (Germany) has chosen to adorn traditional Scottish attire, the kilt, to enter the ring! A combination of magic and comical juggling, his hilarious acts will have the audience in stitches;
- Ty Tojo (Japan) is a 14-year old artist, who is already a professional juggler and undoubtedly one of the great hopes of the contemporary circus. Nothing can apparently defeat him – balls, clubs or even cigar boxes!
- Finally, the Azzario Sisters (Spain) challenge the limits of balance in their classic hand to hand act, but spiced up with various technical feats. The finale literally takes your breath away, as one of the sisters, climbs and descends a ladder using just one hand, whilst balancing her partner on her head! Mind-blowing!
And this year, the Circus Festival has
