A day in celebration of the Principality of Monaco will take place at the Shanghai Universal Expo on Thursday 7th October. On this occasion, a large Monegasque delegation including, among others, H.E. the Minister of State and members of the Government, will accompany H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco from 6th to 8th October.
The programme for these 3 days will begin on the evening of 6th October with a performance by the Monte Carlo Ballet at the Shanghai Grand Theater.
The 7th October, Monaco National Day at the Shanghai Universal Expo 2010, will begin with the official ceremony which will be held in the Expo Center. This special day will be marked by two cultural events:
- at 11 a.m., a traditional dance show will be presented at the Expo Center by the Monegasque cultural group, La Palladienne.
- at 1 p.m., various acts from the Monte Carlo International Circus Festival will be performing on the stage in Europa Square.
The day will conclude with a tour of the China and Monaco Pavilions at the Universal Expo venue. A gala dinner hosted in cooperation with the Société des Bains de Mer will take place in the evening where guests will be able to enjoy an exclusive show specifically produced for the event by the Monte Carlo International Circus Festival.
Friday 8th October will be dedicated to the Prince Albert II Foundation with the Foundation’s Board of Directors’ meeting taking place in the Pavilion. In the afternoon, the Prince Albert II Foundation Award Ceremony will be held at the Shanghai Concert Hall in the presence of various prominent Chinese figures.
