Once again this year, the Pass’sport Culture, the summer event for youth in Monaco, is offering youngsters a wide range of varied and appealing activities.
Depending on their tastes and availability, teens can organise their free time by taking part in one-week courses or simply in “discovery activities” ranging from a few hours to a full day.
Thirty or so activities are being set up by the Department of National Education, Youth and Sport. Water-based recreational activities include rowing and canoeing with the Watersports Club whilst the Yacht Club is introducing youngsters to the joys of sailing aboard a Laser Pico. Pierre Frolla’s Ecole Bleue is offering diving courses over five mornings, water rambling down the rivers of the Gorges du Loup and de Fanghetto, while surfing fans will have the opportunity of trying out a jet ski with the Roca Jet Club.
Other more traditional sports are also available: dancing courses at the Princess Stéphanie Youth Centre, tennis sessions at the Monte Carlo Country Club, combat sports at Louis II Stadium and shooting at the Monegasque Shooting Federation.
And if the sports activities on offer are not enough to “quench their thirst”, youngsters can also take part in creative and cultural courses: plastic arts, drama lessons in both French and English, guitar courses and cookery workshops for culinary art enthusiasts.
The Pass’Sport Culture also gives them the opportunity to meet young foreigners from the Cap d’Ail Mediterranean Centre with whom they can share certain activities, including for the first time this year, a musical comedy course in the English language.
With the cooperation of local associations and sports clubs, every effort has been made to enable the youngsters to enjoy a fun-packed and successful summer holiday!
