Wednesday 8th April 2009 from 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Sea Club, Hôtel Méridien Beach Plaza
The 3rd Meeting for Careers in Banking and Finance of Monaco will offer students at all levels the opportunity to find out about the profession through exchanges with bank executives and training professionals.
Organised by the Department of Labour in partnership with the Monegasque Association of Financial Activities, the Banking Training Institute and the European Bank Training Certification Association, the event will also allow students to discover the “Diplôme Européen d’études supérieurs de Banque” (European Higher Diploma in Banking) – “option the Monegasque banking centre”.
In view of the distinctive feature of the Monegasque banking centre, the Principality of Monaco’s Department of Labour via its Youth Employment Unit, together with its partners, introduced in September 2007 a BAC+3 level training programme specific to the Monegasque market, to meet the needs of bank managers regarding professional skills. The one-year training course is geared towards Bac +2 level students who would like to join a sandwich course (two days’ training and three days’ working in a bank). Of the 15 students from the first year (2007-2008), 11 have been hired following their training.
The Principality of Monaco’s Department of Labour has been developing the sandwich course concept in Monaco for several years. This type of course, which combines study with work experience, appears to be a particularly effective method for the integration of young people into the labour market.
Those interested in signing up for the next course will be able to do so at the Information Day on 8th April organised at the Meridien Beach Plaza.
