This year, for the first time, the Christmas Village, in addition to the traditional attractions, includes an area dedicated exclusively to ecology. Featuring a very special exhibition of jewellery and items made from recycled materials, workshops will be held throughout December to raise the young generation’s awareness of the excesses of the modern world with regard to ecology and the environment.
Just like the works on display in the exhibition, the goal of the artistic recycling workshop is to encourage children to reduce waste by recovering materials. From 20th to 23rd December, they will learn how to make mosaics from corks, flower arrangements, papier maché as well as secret boxes, mobiles and mirrors. Alexandra Berthomé, a face paint specialist, will be teaching her art using natural pigments from 13th to 15th December. The Roc Gongs workshop, on 5th and 6th December, will give the children the opportunity to explore the sounds of the mineral kingdom through the musical sculptures of Pierre Estève, composer and multimedia artist.
A lovely way for children to finish the year developing their creativity and sensitivity in relation to ecology.
