15th September 2009-
After signing a similar agreement with the United States last week, Monaco has today signed a Tax Information Exchange Agreement with Austria.
Today, 15th September 2009 at 15:00, H.E. Biancheri, Government Counsellor for External Relations and for International Economic and Financial Affairs, and H.E. Hubert Heiss, Austrian Ambassador to Monaco, signed a Tax Information Exchange Agreement (TIEA).
H.E. Franck Biancheri was delighted, saying, “We are happy to have been able to conclude this agreement with Austria which confirms our will to conform to the recommendations of the international authorities”.
In order to be removed from the grey list, Monaco must sign twelve bilateral agreements of this type. Negotiations in this regard are currently underway with about 20 countries.
Once signed, these texts will be integrated into Monaco’s national legislation by Sovereign Decree, complemented by arrangements for their practical enforcement.
